It is widely believed that a good artist can turn any scene into a work of art. I know many artists that can do this. For me inspiration has always been my natural surroundings and my family. The photo was taken in Alaska. We started our rail journey on the White Pass Railway in early June. The weather was springlike, green and fresh surroundings. The higher we went the landscape became rugged, and you could only imagine the courage of the people that travelled that terrain with only a horse during the gold rush years. Then we were surrounded by ice and snow, travelling past the point where the Flag of the United States and Canada marked the border point. Continued down to a sunny area travelling by a lake. I felt it was one of the most varied scenic train journeys that I have travelled. It was also the only train that had a fireplace! So here is my "Inspiration Point"
